Nestled in the North Platte River Valley of Carbon County Wyoming, Spirit West is located in a year-round playground. The picturesque valley is surrounded by two mountain ranges: the Sierra Madre Range and the Snowy Range. Both are included in Medicine Bow National Forest, which was established as a National treasure in 1902 by Theodore Roosevelt. Framed by majestic mountains, this captivating valley offers visitors a "little slice of heaven" . . . any time of year.

PARADISE FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE WATER: Both the North Platte River (home of famous "Miracle Mile") and the Encampment River are world-renowned for fly fishing. Abundant mountain streams also furnish anglers with an endless supply of "brookies," while area lakes offer excellent summer reel and winter ice fishing. Raft and float trips are popular with visitors who want a white-water-thrill or a lazy view of nature from the river's perspective. Whatever fun your time includes, a rewarding soak in the natural, mineral hot springs (Hobo Pool) is the perfect finish to any day!

PARADISE FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE LAND: The mountains of Carbon County are carved with over 500 miles of groomed and ungroomed trails to explore — offering mapped terrain for the novice, intermediate and expert snowmobiler or cross-country skier. In warm weather, hikers and backpackers are summoned to scenic National Forest trails; while bikers and horseback riders also enjoy the fresh mountain air and wide open spaces. Breathtaking mountain vistas and abundant native wildlife demand photographers to bring plenty of extra film — and even the golfers command a scenic view!
